Multi Select Option Set

My goal is to have multi select picklist (Option Set) that looks like standard Option Set (not check boxes) and I need to have all selected values separately (not in one text box). Any ideas how to do it?

Although multi select in a option set is not supported, the suggestion here would be to take in those values via a lookup through a custom entity. This would meet your reporting requirement and you could control the selection via system views.

Thanks for the answer, Farhan. Could you be so kind to explain what do you mean by saying "lookup through a custom entity"?

I think you could modify the following solution:

    blog.slalom.com/.../multi-select-option-sets-part-2

changing the HTML webresource so that instead of displaying multi select picklists displays the multi select box.

    Hi Justasd,

My bad.. that I didn't elaborate. The field in which you intend to capture the options, create a 'CUSTOM ENTITY' and fill it in with the record ( options in the option set ). Now since this is an entity, you could create views and then customize the field as per the views. When the user selects that field, it will appear as a 'LOOKUP'. Please try this first in a test environment and test if this if this achieves your need.

Keep the field type as party list as per the image

The problem with a Custom entity for this solution, which I have implemented, is that you cannot do bulk editing, reports/views get messy, searches get complex for the typical user, and the users dislike the experience. Former Sales Force users HATE this solution and complain loudly, which demotivates adoption.

A simple check box solution is the proper answer. I really just want to have an Options list be available as radio buttons OR check boxes. As the the SalesForce users say it "This is a standard feature with everything else"!!! And, they are correct in saying so.

Hey, are you familiar with Silverlight? This would be easy to achieve in silverlight. it's not hard to learn if you're ok with C#
