Printing Multiple Copies of a Template From GP.

Hi,

Is there a trick to printing more than one copy of a Word template from GP?  I have templates enabled for most of the common RW reports (invoice, order, packing slip, etc.) and every time I print using the GP dialog boxes, if I select more than one copy I still only get one.  We have resorted to printing the templates to "screen" and then printing multiple copies right from word.

Regards,

Aaron

Does anyone have an answer for this?  Based on my experience so far with Word formats, I believe it probably cannot be done, but I am somewhat hopeful.  Anybody know anything?

    Hi all,

As far as I know it cannot be done. There are several limitations using Word and this is one of them.

    Kind regards,

    Lesllie

    Hello Everyone,

I have spoken with a couple of GP team members and they are currently working on a fix for this issue. It's currently scheduled to go out in the SP3 release but that is subject to change. They don't have an exact release date yet for SP3 so I will keep you posted once I find out more.

    Hi all,

Long time listener, First time poster.

I have SP3 installed and this issue - Printing multiple copies using templets in GP 2010 - is still not fixed.

Is there a fix not posted here?

    Thank you

So I heard back from the team and this bug did not make it into the SP3 release and is currently on the list of bugs to be fixed in GP 2013.

One recommendation they provided was to do a 2 step process and print it to the screen first. I hope the workaround helps until the bug has been resolved.

    Hello Nick,

I am having the same issue with GP using Compass POS, which does not print to screen. Every time I choose to print the default number of copies is one, despite being set for 2 on Windows. The problem with this is that we have to rely on the cashier remembering to change the setting for every invoice printed, which is not ideal. This is pervasive on every GP window and exclusive to GP (If you print from anywhere else it prints normally).

Can you please find out if there is any workaround to set the default printing to 2?

While it's probably overkill for this one particular issue, using a product like our GP Reports Viewer (www.gpreportsviewer.com/gpreports.html) to print your invoices from GP would fix this.  If you're always printing 2 copies, it will even remember that so that it will default to 2 next time you choose to print to the printer.  If there are other reasons to want to create invoices in Crystal Reports or SSRS, then this would be an additional benefit.

    Nelsona,

I received a response back and they said once the Dex bug is fixed it should take care of this issue as well.

    I hope that information helps.
