Hi folks,
Not sure if this is expected, but we select a 15-day date range or more on the "List Transactions" screen, it takes forever or even most of the time, it just crashes RMS.
Is there a way to speed it up or avoid displaying the transactions, but just allowing us to type in the transaction number and display the transaction if found?
Thanks,
...Alex

There are many sites and books on the subject since it is very broad. It varies on the installation. Normally I look at hard drive, read/write access, swap file placement, sql total and average memory usage, just to name a few.
I have found that ssd drives will help with queries since the drive doesn't have a physical head that it needs to move, making read access far quicker. Also, you can place the database on its own drive separate from other applications and the OS.
Also I recommend trying to only run the essential applications, i.e. no google chrome browsing.
There are numerous more ways to tune a database server.
Ed,
Thanks for your response.
Did you change/tune up something specific on your SQL installation to speed up these slow downs?
Did you add an index to a table or something to related to this nature?
Please advise.
Thanks,
...Alex

Sounds like you have a large number of transactions. Unfortionately the only this is one of the slowest parts of the system. I have found that if I tune the MS SQL installation then it make these slow downs very minimum. Also I recommend a SSD drive for the database. I have one in my laptop and it is very fast and RMS responds very well.
