I am going to change my pc  Window 7-32bit. I  changed one last month and I had to problem to install verifone pinpad se 100 usb. But this time I do not understand the problem. The window keep assigning com port 9 for pin pad and when I change the com port 1,2 or 3 on device manger and after  the restart the window automatic  assign  com port 9 again. So  how can I assign permanant lower com port.  I can not cofigure pin pad on microsoft opos service objects  with com port 9.

Is there any help ?

I upgraded one pc about 3 month ago It is working fine But I just changed my server pc last month and It is not working on that.  I think they must have some changes on during 3month period. any time I start the pos error popping  up 'Device attached on pc not functioning right'. I did some test transaction It was ok but I didn't want to take any risk so I changed to serial pin pad.

Did you ever get this to work? I gave up on the USB version.  I am told that it is not a true USB-to-PC PIN PAD, but rather designed to work only with the separate terminal. PC's don't provide the power level required.

It wont be in the drop box.

You have to type com9: from the keyboard

Short answer is just type com9 in the opos configurer and it should work fine.

or you can change the registry entry but I dont recommend doing this do to the fact that if you mess up then there is a chance your computer wont work.

On Microsft service opos Objects You can select 1 to 4 com There is no com 9 to select. Is there any way to change on OPOS OBJECTS ?  It should singn 1 to 4com   otherwise It will not work RMS  unless microsoft makes change on OPOS

In the configure program you are right, you cant select com9 from the drop down but you should still be able to type com9 into the field and get the same result.  Also the driver assigns the number and this is to solve another problem. That problem is when you unplug the usb cable and plug it into another port, the driver would normally assign the next com number like 10,11  etc.  So the driver was written to make the com port number is always the same, in this case 9.

Short answer is just type com9 in the opos configurer and it should work fine.

    Thanks
