Hi Dynamics Community

I know the concept behind the flushing principle Start & End. I set the Flushing Principle to START for all BOM components of a particular FG. Then on Production Start form, I make

sure that Flushing Principle is also selected on Automatic BOM Consumption field. However the picking item lines do not get created unless I also enable the 'Post Picking List Now'

OR I changed the Automatic BOM Consumption to Always.

Please advise if I have missed any setup to ensure that Picking List gets automatically created (no posting yet) upon Starting ProdOrder.

could use on BOM line flushing principle as always and also the parameters on production start should create picking list and use principle as always or flushing principle

Hi Rahul,

The options available on BOM Lines are Start, Finish, Manual, Available on Location. What is the difference selecting the flushing principle in BOM Lines versus Released Product Form?

Also in Production Start form, there is no option to Create Picking List. There is only Post Picking List option.

Going back to my concern, may I know which option controls to ensure that Picking List will be created upon Starting production order but without posting it yet.

Hi Reign!

If you set up in BOM lines, for example "Start", and at start you put the automatic consumption as "Flushing Principle"
Dynamics will post the journal of that bom line at start. So you can control the backflushing at different times.

But if you put At Start, or RAF journal "always", dynamics will do the consumption regardless what the bom line has set up.

if you want to create automatically the journal but not post it, you can start the production order as this image:

So dynamics will create the journal, but not post it, because "Post picking list now" is "NO"

under picking list journal section, use automatic BOM consumption as Always and disable post picking list

this would create/generate picking list for users to pick and then they can confirm /post
