Advanced warehouse management must be turned off?

Hi Experts

I'm quite confused by the advice given by our implementation partners. We had initialised all parts with AWMS turned on. We use 3PL's so don't really need the warehouse stuff except to plan loads and shipments. We do need TMS. Now we are being told that if we only want TMS with a little AWMS, we will have to change all our part numbers to disconnect AWMS storage dimension group. This seems crazy and I don't understand why we can't just implement the parts of AWMS & TMS needed? Can anyone explain it to me like I'm five please?

Hi Donna

I can't tell you which parts of your process your partner thinks would be better if your items were not enabled for WHS processes. In general, MS say it is possible to use TMS on non-WHS items:

I would suggest to try your scenarios with both types of item and note the pros and cons of each.
