CRM 2013 - Linking emails sent outside of campaign back to a previous campaign

Hi All,

I am running some test scenarios on CRM 2013 and was hoping for input on the best method of achieving the following:

When we create a marketing campaign, we would usually aim to email clients on mass through the campaign.  However, on occasion individual members of our sales team may email clients directly or receive enquiries through other methods.  In the event that we receive an email asking for information on a previously sent campaign.  What is the fastest method for linking this email back to the previously sent campaign? i.e if I receive an email now, what is the recommended method of recording this email enquiry to the account and ensure that they are included on future campaigns on this type?

Thank you

    Hi Wayne,

Please have your users take advantage of the "Set Regarding" feature within outlook.

Set regarding allows you to link any email that has been sent out to a Contact, Client, and in your case, Campaign.

Have your users follow these steps:

    1. Go to the email that was sent out, and under the CRM Grid, you will see "Set Regarding" - next to the "track button". Click on the Set Regarding button

    2. Under the "look for" section, search the dropdown for "Campaign"

    3. Place a checkmark next to the campaign that is being run

    4. Click Add

**Please mark this as "verified answer" if this answers your question**

    I hope that this helps.
