We are unable to configure the External File Account in Business Central

Hello All,

We are unable to configure the External File Account in Business Central because no File App is available in the system.

Kindly advise how to install the required File App for configuring this functionality in the Business Central SaaS environment.

Hello

External File Accounts need a File App

BC SaaS does NOT include one by default

That’s why the list is empty

Fix

Go to Extension Management → AppSource

Install a File App (OneDrive, Azure Blob, SFTP, etc.)

After install, External File Accounts will work

No app = nothing to configure.

We are unable to find the “File Extended Storage” extension on the Microsoft Marketplace / Extension management.

We would like to install the Microsoft base extension for file or external storage in Dynamics 365 Business Central, but the extension is not visible in AppSource or Extension Management
