Dimension value Lists not populated in a dropdown page

Entering a journal entry (general journal). the global dimension will not populate. The value list is blank. However the dept value (920) is assigned to the account number. Using a new batch name - not default.

Error Message: The field Dept. Code of table Gen. Journal Line contains a value (920) that cannot be found in the related table (Dimension Value).

The dept value is assigned to the account but drop down list is blank on the jrnl entry.

I'm sure its a setup issue but I can't figure out what I'm missing. I've checked configuration with another company that appears to be working just fine. We're still in setup/test mode.

I have the same question (0)

D365 consists of many applications, such as Finance and Operations (former Dynamics AX) or Business Central (former Dynamics NAV). Which one do you have in mind?

    Hi,

The table name indicates this might be related to Dynamics 365 Business Central. Can you confirm that please? We can then move the question to the correct forum, so a volunteer will be able to help you.

Yes - its the Dynamics Bus Central 365 - the application is the General Ledger (journal entry).

If you go to the Dimensions page, select your dimension and click on Dimension Values, do you see 920 in there? It seems like its missing from there.

    Global Dimension Dept -
    Dimension Value 920 is there.
On the general journal page, in the DEPT. dimension - the list comes up in error for all rows.  I've assigned the 920 to the Account number for it to default and it still does not appear and gives me the message the the table is blank.

Think it's solved since it's working now..
    1. in my company setup I had only one Global Dimension (dept) setup. The second global dimension was blank.  I was getting the blank on Jnl entry error message.

    2. Added a second global dimension (xyz) that we will never use for this company.  The list now appears as expected in the journal entry.

Per our consultant - this came from the wayback machine.  Thanks for your help.
