Disable Customization vs Remove Code

We have a customization provided by Microsoft and we are trying to eliminate this code from being part of another problem. So we went to Customization Status and disabled it. Since no one complained about it being disabled we then decided to remove it from the DYNAMICS.SET file. Much to my surprise one part of the customization was no longer firing. So my question is are there only certain portions of a customization that will be disabled when you disable a customization? I thought all code within that customization would be disabled.

RE: Disable Customization vs Remove Code

    Richard,

It is my understanding that disabling the customization merely disables the triggers from firing. The other code would still run. So, if they had some code that didn't rely on triggers, that code would work just fine. That's my take on it anyway. Another thing, you'd need to use the Support Debugging Tool if you want the product to stay disabled. If you use the Customization Status window to do the disabling, the product is re-enabled the next time you log in.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

Yes. If you disable the Product in Customization status window, it will disable the whole source of this product (Nothing works belong to this product).

    Hope this helps!!!
