Slow performance "Working on it" showing for BC

Our company just went live with Business Central software. One thing we noticed is that the loading speed is excruciatingly slow with the "Working on it" loading screen showing frequently. When trying to churn the Item Availability Report, it seems to take a long time to load with 6000 over lines taking roughly 1 second for each line. This would take up to 30 minutes just to produce the inventory report. Given that we are just onboarded with the live system, it is rather disappointing to realise that it takes this long to produce 1 report.

Are there any recommendations to speed up the system of our Business Central? All feedback are welcome.

    Hi,

Is it On cloud or OnPrem version?

if its OnPrem version, please check SQL comtability set it higher on the BC DB

Or if it is Oncloud check if there is no customization done, otherwise talk to Microsoft support with help your development partner.

    Thanks.

Thanks for your fast reply! Yes our version is OnPrem. What does it mean by setting SQL compatibility higher on BC DB? Currently we are using Azure SQL database, could that be a reason it is running slowly. What needs to be set higher for the BC database? Really appreciate your answer, thank you so much!

Is there a need to change the compatibility level if we are only using 1 database that is being used for Azure Cloud OnPrem Business Central?

I notice in the article it shows many different databases and that is why the compatibility level is changed. Not sure if I understood it correctly. Sorry for my lack of technical knowledge as I am just an end user

    Hello,

Best is to raise this question to your Dynamics partner.

    Thank you.
