Creating Contracts that could be several pages long

Hello,  We are in the process of getting Dynamics GP setup in our company.  We need to think about the documents that we send to our customers and how they need to be created in GP.  We don't know GP yet and we are wondering the best way to create these documents.  They will have variable data as well as a lot of text.  Some of the paragraphs my be used in several of the contracts or not.  I have been thinking of using views for the paragraphs and calling them in a stored procedure, then creating a smart list.  But, not sure.  Am I on the right track or is there a better tool in GP for this?

Thank you for your guidance.

Hi, I have been doing more research.. I am guessing that creating a word template would be better?

That would be my recommendation as well. Check out Mariano's blog for an article about adding terms and conditions text to a Word Template. He has a step by step article on how to add this text. check it out here: http://dynamicsgpblogster.blogspot.com/2010/09/how-to-add-terms-and-conditions-page-to.html

    Kind regards,

    Hi Andree,

Leslie's link is an excellent suggestion if you chose to go the Word Template path..

Our purchasing department came up with such a request last year, to add a Terms & Conditions document of several pages to every PO sent out to our suppliers.. to me this was simply a no-no situation with the embedded POP Blank Report in GP (with Report Writer).. As we don't use the Word Templates and I didn't wanted to go down this road, I suggested that our Marketing division who operates the corporate web site, puts a PDF copy of the document & a page with the full T&C, so we can refer every supplier to this page.

It makes updates also much easier in the future, as we don't have to tinker with GP reports.

    Have a look at it :  www.ultra-forensictechnology.com/terms-and-conditions

This allows us also to put the document in several languages for our various foreign suppliers.
