Copy fields from WorkOrder to Account

After an WorkOrder is executed (post or canceled) I need to copy several custom fields filled in during the WorkOrder execution, to similar fields of ServuceAccount associated with the WorkOrder.

For example, when an WorkOrder is created I can copy info from Account to WorkOrder by using Customization, Account, 1:N Relashionships, Mappings.

So, how can I do the opposite?

Mapping fields only tends to work if you are manually adding a new associated record. E.g. Like creating a new work order from a Customer record.

This sounds like you will either need a Workflow or a plugin to populate those fields.

Workflow - If Work Order is Closed or Cancelled, then Update Customer with related Work Order Fields

Plugin - If Work Order is Closed or Cancelled, then create a QueryExpression to get the Customer and call a service.Update(Entity) to update those fields on the customer.

I've tried the Process Workflow. It run several times, with status = succeeded, but did nothing to my Account (Client) fields.

Hi Ionut,

I made a workflow below which works. Use it as Reference, hopefully it helps.

Make sure that the fields you updating are the same in terms of type and length as the original.

If I am not wrong, from the images I could see that you have mapped the fields from service account again into service account. So it updates the same value into fields whenever the workflow is executed.

In the update service account step, the values for the two fields should be from workorder and the same should solve the issue.

Thank Thomas Dayman for attaching the images and thank you Ramanathan Rajendran for putting it in words.

Indeed I was copying the fields from Account to Account.

I changed and now works fine.
