Auto report as finished for finished goods with serialised components

Hi,

I have marked an item as "Auto report as finished" so that it will be produced 'on the fly' during sales packing slip posting by consuming the component items. My query is whether D365 would supports this functionality when the components are serialised items. I am getting an error that serial number must be specified for component items but not able to find a way to specify it.

    Maybe you need to set a Serial number group on the item.

    Thanks Alina for the reply.

    Setting up serial number group will not help as the components in stock already got serial numbers assigned to them. I just need to specify an existing serial number before system consumes the item.
