GP Utilities constantly required to be run on new install

I just installed GP2013 and update 1894, ran GP utilities and it built Dynamics db and then finished and I clicked launch GP, logged in as sa and it updated the sql messages and then said Utilities needed to be run before logging in. I did repeatedly with no luck. I have checked DEX.INI and the Synchronize entry is FALSE, I even set back to TRUE ran through again, noticed it got changed to FALSE but still it wants GP utlities to be run again. Any thoughts on what I should do?

Thank you all so much for taking the time to respond to my question. Turns out I had not created a company yet so it is correct for it to send me continually into GP utilities I just assumed it was for the reason of version sync forgetting that there are several things to be done thru utilities. Trying to do too many tasks at once seems to cause the most trouble for me : ) Thank you again I rely on this forum and did not intend to waste your time.

Yes. I am agree with Bill. Mostly it was occurred due to permission issue. Try to give full permission for the GP installed folder and run GP with "Run as Administrator".

    Hope this helps!!!

Nancy, what user are you running the GP Utilities with?  While it appears to be creating and updating the SQL correctly, the times I have encountered this type of situation it almost always turns out to be a permission issue.

I know, we all blame permissions, but in a large number of cases this is true.

Be sure to run all installations as a Domain Admin (level) not just Admin on local machine and as Babu noted, be sure your ODBC is 32bit regardless of the OS on the workstation.

Finally, double check the permissions on the Microsoft Dynamics folder - where ever you have it installed - and make sure you run it as Administrator (right click, run as . . .)

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Nancy,

Have you checked the ODBC setup correctly with 32 bit.
