Workflow triggered by a time clock on a form?

I want a workflow to email a User if a timer added to the Order form hits a certain value.

However, I cannot get a workflow condition to listen to the Contract Expiry Timer that I inserted into the form. When I try to find the clock listed as a potential condition in the workflow it does not appear. What can I do to set a workflow to be triggered by the clock hitting a certain value?

See workflow here:

And the Timer on the form:

Any advice appreciated!

Set an SLA Warning condition based on how much time you want to pass.  That will work mostly like a workflow would, but can actually tie into the SLA timers.

Aren't SLAs only applicable to Case and Account entities? How can I implement them on an Order? Thanks!

You can add them other places, though I haven't tried Orders specifically: blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../how-to-configure-slas

    Hi Telia,

Use timeout condition in your workflow to trigger workflow upon reaching your contract expiry date and time. Please follow the below link to achieve this.

Hope this helps. If the suggestion resolved your query .Pls mark it as answered/verified to close the thread.

    Hi Syed,

I have tried but do not see how to make use of a dynamic clock in my workflow logic. Here are two logic syntax, basically the same thing but the two ways I've tried. Could you explain how to use Today's Date to make this work?

1 If, Order requested delivery date is =/< 30 days after today's date

    Then, send email

    OR

2 If Contract Expiry (Form Clock) =/< 30 days

    Then, send email

    hi Talia,

Create a field say "new_today" on the form and update the field using recurring workflow daily to get the current date in the form . then in your workflow compare the fields and trigger your workflow using the above said method. Pls find the below link how to update

    www.powerobjects.com/.../setting-up-recurring-workflows-in-dynamics-crm-2016

the same way your main workflow can be scheduled along with this.

Other option is create console app to update your current date daily on the form and upon change of current date you can check your condition and trigger the workflow

    hope this helps
