Hi,

I have created the alert for credit management when sales orders is in Credit management on hold intiailly should alert the user by sending the mail to user email id mentioned in rule. But facing issue is that receiving mails for other entities as well.

Thanks in advance, please help on this issue of anyone have faced it.

Hello,

Since the switch "Organization-wide" is set to FALSE, it seems like a bug in my opinion.

I would recommend creating a MS Ticket. If you have access to Contoso, then its maybe a good idea to check if it works there, just to avoid that some custom code gives MS a reason not to look into it.

So a MS fix could a solution.

Another solution would be to set up a dataverse connection, if you havent already and use Power automate to trigger such events like when a new record is created. You are much more flexible with dataverse, however, some setup is necessary.

The 3rd solution, which I dont recommned, but I add it here for the sake of fullfilness, is to use Business events to trigger new record creation. You arent that flexible with it as a developer needs to develop a business event. You may check if one already exists out of the box.

And Microsoft may not change it, because it has field company on it, although table is organization-wide (SaveDataPerCompany=NO)

would it work if alerts are set after advance filters applied ?

In the screenshot given in the question, i can see there are two alerts created for the same, but not sure whether other one is trigerring this behaviour, so you can give a try by removing other alerts.

Can you please confirm once whether the organization-wide option is unticked or not for other alerts while creating the custom alerts? As by default, it will be organization-wide = yes for this table/form.

If it is ticked as Yes, please untick the same, clear all previous custom alerts created for this page, and then try with new custom alerts. Please let us know the results.

When alerts are created, they remember the filtered query, even though you cannot see that query. If you have a form with 10 different vendors and you filter the form by Vendor X, then create the alert rule, the alerts you receive will be only for Vendor X, because the filter/ranges were applied at the time of alert creation. Dynamics does not allow you to review your ranges/filters once the alert setup is complete, and that is the reason Docentric added this small functionality.

Irrespective of what Docentric did, I reckon the standard system should allow you to create alerts using the filter on field Company, if you want to receive the alerts, company specific.

Hi,

I have tested in my environment by doing the setup for alerts, select the company field in the alerts and is set to: [your current legal entity].

Then whenever a new record will create in current legal entity then it will check the company field is equal to current legal entity or not and accordingly alerts will be triggered.

I tested by creating credit hold for USMF and INMF company, rule was set to : USMF, so i got the alerts only for USMF records not for INMF.

Hope this resolves your problem.

and the result i verified from tablename = EventInbox it provides the rule id as well to validate whether correct rule is triggered or not which we are expecting.

The subject and message you can set as per your requirement.
