Project accounting unit of measure schedule

Hi.  Our customer is managing projects with a budget and billing by days quantities and their timesheets are enter by hour. We created a PA UofM schedule with a Based UofM hour and we entered the days equivalent.  The budget has been entered by days with the UofM Days and the cost and rate in the budget is by day also (Ex. 1,500$ by day).  When billing the timesheet entries that have been entered by Hour (same UofM schedule then the budget), no conversion is made for the TS hour to bill it in a day quantity and worst, the hour quantities gets billed at the day rate???  How could we bill the customer by day and gets the timesheets enter by hours?

Thanks

    Hi Josee,

What is the Profit Type of your project?  The billing rate depends on how you set up your Project Billing.

I suggest not to enter the Billing Rate in the Budget Detail Entry window but create a Labour Rate table that you can assign the Billing Rate per hour against your employee.

A word of caution though, if you have multiple types of Timesheet Cost Category in your Budget then you'll be using the same rates to all your employees and Cost Category unless you create multiple Pay Code for each employee (which would make the setup really tideous depending on the number of emplyees/pay code combination you have) or overwrite the billing rate at the Billing Transaction.

    I hope this helps.

Hi, The project is Time and materials - When billed.  They cannot used the employee rate table because their is no Unit of measure in it.  They need a rate per day (and the hours to be converted in days at the billing).  Right now, the budget can be entered by day (Unit of measure = DAY) with a rate by day as well, so this part is ok.  The problem is at the billing entry.  The rate is still showing per day, but the hours worked by the employee are not converted based on the UofM schedule, so the billing is wrong (Ex. 5 hours worked and the billing is 5h x 1500$, that is the day rate in the budget...).  It looks like a bug to me.  Any idea based on thos informations?  Thanks!
