Pricing field in order product remains locked - CRM Online 2016

Hello,

I am currently facing an issue in CRM 2016 Online regarding order product override pricing. I have created a sales order and added order products to it. For some products it was required to override price per unit in order products, but I am unable to override it as the Pricing field shows locked. Also the prices locked is set to No. I have System Administrator and System Customizer roles assigned. Here is the screenshot. How can I override price?

I came across this issue recently when I wanted to add placeholder products into the Opportunity Products grid via a Flow on Opportunity create.

I could add the product lines, but the price per unit could not be edited in the editable sub-grid on the Opportunity form, despite being unlocked in the main form.

After some searching I came across this explanation on the MS website:

Why can't I make inline edits or see grid actions like move up or move down in the Product subgrid?

If you select a view other than Opportunity Product Inline Edit View in the legacy web client, you can't make inline edits or see grid actions like move up, move down, and lock icons. This is by design. The inline edit view is available in Unified Interface. To verify whether a grid can be edited, go to Grid control properties.

So, I simply used the different view and can now allow users to edit the price. Neat.

    Hi,

That is incorrect, with the right privileges you should be able to update pricing for an existing product. This feature is available out of the box.

    Hi,

I am facing the same issue, logged in as admin ( meaning that I have all privileges to override pricing), I am able to override pricing on the same product in Opportunity and Quote, but not in Order or Invoices.

Especially annoying is the inability to update the price in invoices as my customers often need to amend invoices due to minor things like bank charges etc.

Anyone that has any proper solution to this ( i.e. no Javascript) or that can direct me to this bug / give me the bug number with Microsoft would be immensely appreciated!

    Best Regards,

    Niklas

    Hi Mithali,

We can add Existing Product or Write-In Product to Orders.

It seems that you have chosen Existing Product and so dynamic CRM has put an exclusive lock to Price of the Product.

There is no Out-of-Box way to edit the Price of Product which is added as Existing Product.

You can try adding a product choosing Write-In Product option and you will see there is no lock and user is allowed to edit the Price.

In above, Yellow is Existing Product and Green is reffered to as Write-In Product

We had our upgrade done on Friday and ran into the same thing when we came into work on Monday to use it. We came with the following workaround. Hope this helps a few people out:
