Product Properties:-

I understand that
- product properties cascade down to each linked ‘child’ product in the family.
- product properties would not directly affect the product price
- product properties can be set as mandatory to ensure a sales person completes these attributes

My Main question is how can we use Product Properties afterwards?

- How can I search. For Example suppose I am using the property for color [red, blue, yellow etc], size [small, medium, XL etc], dimensions [ d1,d2,etc]. Is there a way of searching - maybe how many products were ordered for a certain combination of product properties [eg- red, medium, d1] or even create a report based on the product properties that a certain product was ordered these many times and the break down using the product properties.

I am just confused or I maybe missing something. Just wondering ...if there is no way back to use this data for product properties which the sales person might end up entering again & again. What is the point of having these product properties in the first place?

I would love help or point me in the direction on how to create a report to view these properties. Better yet, I would like a subgrid of all related product's properties within the Order form. Possible?

    Thank you

Does this make sense? Do you need any further info?

You are right- the properties cannot be searched on but can be accessed using code and custom pricing plugins. You could create a fetchxnl report to report on properties as well.

    Hope this helps
