Hi D365 Expert,

I have an odd issue that I haven't met before.

I just trace some process using plugin Trace Log and I found that my Correlation Id started on DEPTH 2.

What does it mean?

Here's the picture so you guys can imagine how it happened

Thanks before hand,

    Hi Audrey,

Correlation property is used by the platform for infinite loop prevention.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/microsoft.xrm.sdk.iexecutioncontext.correlationid?view=dynamics-general-ce-9

Depth property gives you the current depth of execution.

Every time a running plug-in or Workflow issues a message request to the Web services that triggers another plug-in or Workflow to execute, the depth property of the execution context is increased.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/microsoft.xrm.sdk.iexecutioncontext.depth?view=dynamics-general-ce-9

    Hope this helps

    Best Regards

    PG

One possibility is that the initial operation (with Depth = 1) is from a different process (workflow or plugin) that you are not tracing

    Hi David,

For a couple of weeks, I'm looking for the process that you meant and maybe i found that one.

I found one of our plugin step doesn't register in any Entity. So the previous condition is, First Entity = none and Secondary Entity = none.

Now I have fixed it with the correct First Entity and so far no magic plugin is running since we do the monitoring in our environment.

    Thanks for the hint, David.
