How to Default Views on Service Calendar

Currently, when we open the Service Calendar entity, the default Type reads "Resource", and the default View is "All Resources".

Is there a way to make a particular view the default so that a more relevant view appears each time we open Service Calendar? For example Type: User and View: Enabled Users?

RE: How to Default Views on Service Calendar

    Hi Courtney,

    Unfortunately, this cannot be done.

The reason is: there are just 2 ways of setting a default view: Advanced Find and Entity --> Views on customize the system tab.

But, for Sevice Calendar, you may notice that "Service Calendar" is not listed as an entity in Advanced Find.

Also, if you navigate to Settings-->Customizations-->Customize the System-->Scheduling Group, you will notice the Default View set to "All Resouce Groups". You will notice that there is no New button. Neither, it has "Set Default" button on top of the grid.

RE: How to Default Views on Service Calendar

    Hi Courtney,

The Service Calendar Default view is not customizable to be changed.

    Source:

    www.microsoft.com/.../navigate-the-service-calendar.aspx

In the Microsoft Article, it was stated:

"You can't customize the Service calendar or change the default view with the application. However, you can ask your system administrator to change the colors of the time blocks."

Hope this clarifies and helps you.

    Thank you.

RE: How to Default Views on Service Calendar

The way I got around this was to create a custom view on my resources. We use "Facilities & Equipment" as our resource(s) location. So I customized the resource entity to create a bit field of "Is_Active." Then created a custom view on the resources and filtered to that field. Then you can set the new view to your default.

I do have to change my "Type" from "Resource" to "Service Resource" (which is facilities/equipment). Then I can change the "View" to my custom view "All Active Resources."

    Hope this helps.

RE: How to Default Views on Service Calendar

    Hi TS

Thanks for your answer. I was thinking of something similar but figured out, that the I cant add a field in the resource entity. Anyways I dont know if it is necessary because there is a standard field called isdisabled which could be used for this purpose.

    But two other questions/appeared:

    1. When I open the view "All resources" and click on filter criteria I see two errors saying that the condition cant be shown and I cant add any further.

    2. Where to maintain the field isdisabled?

Maybe you have any suggestion for me. Im using CRM online 8.1.0.369.

    Thanks and BR

    Mario
