How to allow user to add posts to timeline?

Hello,

I have created a new security role so that a specific user can only access the accounts and contacts entities that they have created and so far so good. The problem I'm facing is that I also want to give them the ability to add posts onto the timeline however, even after adding the create, read and write permissions for Posts and Notes the plus button doesn't appear to allow to add a post.

If I also enable Activities in the security role the plus button does come up but doesn't give an options for post or notes.

The screenshots below might help.

With Activities

Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Kamilcmm,

    Thank you for your post.

I've been looking into my organization at the security permissions for the System Administrator and I can see you granted, at least for activities permissions at user level.

My recommendation is the following, try to see if the account or contact record available for the screenshot above is assigned to the user.

If it is not, what will happen if you assign it to the affected user, will she/he be able to see the proper Add button with Note and Post?

If on the other hand the record had been owned by the affected user at the time of the screenshot, then please verify if the following permissions had been already assigned for that user.

My recommendation is to test with the Append permission on the Account or contact entity and see what happens at that time together with the permissions above.

    I hope this helps.
