Is anyone else having this issue?

My organization recently updated to CRM 2013 and SharePoint 2013.  It has been a nightmare to say the least.  We are having an issue were we get an error when CRM tries to create a folder within our SharePoint site collection.  Error:  "This action cannot be performed"  Microsoft CRM tech support has been (escalating, and giving priority on my ticket) for about the last 2 weeks with no updates as to when this will be resolved.  Was wondering if anyone else out there had or is experiencing this type of issue.  Now if the folder that CRM is supposed to create within my SharePoint is manually created within SharePoint, then CRM will recognize the folder and perform an association.  It just errors when creating the document location.  Any help or assistance would be greatly greatly appreciated.

I set it up a couple of months ago.. Without issues...

Sounds like your problem could be related to your sh

    Arepoint security roles.

Care to elaborate on SharePoint security roles?

I have set this up about 5 times in the last month or so (all online instances). I am not seeing any issues. Is this for Online products, hybrid (and which is online, which is on-premise), or all on-premise?

It does sound like a permission issue in SharePoint. The CRM users must have edit/write privileges in SharePoint. In the SharePoint Site Collection where the CRM solution is installed, make sure your CRM users have access to the site with Edit or Full Control permissions.

Go to your SP Site> Click Gear Icon> Site Settings>Users and Permissions>People and Groups....then add your users or CRM group to this site.

Hi, we had a similar issue with CRM2011 + SP2010 Foundation.

We resolved unistalling the CRM component, reinstalling it again and repeating the setup from CRM.

The CRM recognised the folders and associated accounts folder to accounts so nothing was lost.

After this, we no longer got the error creating something from CRM in SharePoint.

And wthat Michael Hammons said is true. You have manually add the user to the SharePoint Site collection to allow users to load things. Anyway, if is a permission issue, I think its clear from SharePoint logs. The first time we setup it, it was clear reading the logs.

RE: Is anyone else having this issue?

Hi Michael, thank you for your response.  This is online.  We are using Office 365 in the Cloud for our SharePoint and Outlook.  And we are using CRM 2013 also in the cloud.  All of my CRM users appear in the group that you indicated. I am not too familiar with SharePoint so when I do click on the drop down for settings, then Click on View Group Permissions,  The Site Collection Permissions are set to Contribute. Apparently this isn't high enough of a permission level??

    You are welcome.

Contribute level makes me think that may be the issue. Contribute permissions would not allow the folders to be created, but, would allow users to access them after they were manually created. Try setting a user or two to Full Control or Edit permission then go back to CRM as that user, then click on an Account that does not already have a folder created.

In SP go back to the Site Settings page, this time click Site Permissions, select one or more users, click the Edit User Permission button at the top of page, then check the Permissions. I think Edit will work, but cannot remember off hand, so they may need Full Control.

RE: Is anyone else having this issue?

    Hi Michael....

You Sir are a total Rock Star..  I modified the permissions for my Group changing their level to Edit which proved to be sufficient enough permissions to allow my CRM users to create new folders within our SharePoint site collection.  The error message has gone away and we have a bunch of happy campers again.  Thank you very much for your time and efforts, much appreciated!!!
