How can pass custom field to any report layout?

Hello All,

How we can pass any custom field added in Sale Invoice Line table to sale report. Because in xml mapping I can see you default fields are coming not my customized fields. any feasible solution?

You actually need to create a new report object to add your custom field in to the data item , Copy the standard report object and add your custom field .

If you want to modify Base Report

1) Create a copy of the base Report

2) Add New field to New Custom Report in AL File

3) Add the Same to RDLC Layout or Word Layout.

You can Extract object from DEV env and convert it from C/AL to AL

Thank Div,

Actually i don't have Nav 2018, I use BC online ver Saas and I only know AL Language (VS Code). So how I install and get Nav 2018 license etc.

Well, I have number of reports where have to add custom field. But recent problem is in Service Line.. that is in Service Invoice.

I added one custom field, so want to show this custom field in my report.

I am also experiencing the same issue. Did you find a solution for this problem? I created a custom field, but it does not appear in the XML mapping in the Business Central Word layout. Have you been able to resolve this issue?

Hello,

To pass a custom field from the Sales Invoice Line table to a Sales report in Business Central, you need to modify the report's dataset by extending the report object in AL code to include your custom field, as it won't appear in the default XML mapping.

Once added, update the report layout (RDLC or Word) to bind and display the new field, then deploy and test the report to ensure the field appears correctly.
