Shelf advise date functionality

Hi Team,

When I'm RAF a production order and new batches are created, that created batch is not showing shelf advise date. At the item level, I have enabled Date calculation rules.

I'm new to d365 and would really appreciate some clarity. How is this functionality actually supposed to work?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Shivam Thakur

    Shelf advise date functionality
    Hi Shivam,
Based on basic information provided by you, I have tried explaining the concept.
In item P-009, Batch enabled tracking dimension is mapped and this will allow you to update number of days in ITEM data for Shelf advice period in days, shelf life period in days and Best before period in days.

I have selected tracking number group as Batch Auto which means Batch number will be auto generated. You may create batch Manually too.

Manufacturing date can be setup A) Manually – while creating Batch B) Enabling Item model group , vendor Batch = purchase registration C) Automatically setup when batch created (using setup shown above).
Now, when I completed RAF for production order, inventory is increased.
To see Batch number created, navigate to Inventory management > inquiries and reports > tracking dimensions > batches and Click on batch number generated.

    Manufacturing date is Today’s date. i.e 4 march 2024
    Expiration date = Manufacturing date + Shelf-life period in days = 4 March 2024 + 100days = 12 June 2024
    Best before date = Expiration date â€“ Best before period in days = 12 June 2024- 30 days= 13May2024
Shelf advice date = Manufacturing date + Shelf advice period in days= 4March2024+60 days= 3May2024
I hope this answers your query 😊
    Thanks,
