How to Install Dynamics 365 BC Client on Windows 11 ARM VM in M1 Apple Macbook Pro? - missing Windows identity foundation

Hi!

I have installed a brandnew Windows 11 Pro 21H2 22000.376 as Virtual Machine in Parallels with the assitent on a most recent Apple Macbook Pro with M1 chip. Most Apps are working. I was even able to install a Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2018 client with no problems.

However, when installing a Dynamics NAV 365 Business Central Client (14.20, 14.0.45810.0) it is instantly running into an error.

It is missing "Windows identity foundation". But this windows feature cannot be activated, because I cannot see it.

Due to recommendations I have installed net Framework 3.5, because there was only 4.0 on the machine. But it didn' help.

Any ideas to solve it? I am not sure, if it is a genereal Windows 11 problem or an ARM problem.

I am not a Pro, so please explain carefully what to do.

    exactly, this windows feature cannot be activated, because I cannot see it - it is not shown in the list.

    Hello,

    I found this blog, but I am pretty sure you already mentioned that it is not there.

    Note that I am using an enterprise release of Windows 11 (not the pro edition). Maybe someone in this forum can verify on a Windows 11 Pro machine if it is also not there.

    unfortunately, -I could not make it work. I cannot see the windows indentity foundation - and nothing wirked to add it :-(
