Reserve Inventory from Sales Quote

Hi Everyone

I there a way to reserve inventory against a sales QUOTE. The requirement is that we send a quote to the customer and before the customer accepts it, inventory should be allocated. If not once the customer accepts the quote we cannot supply since it's delivered to another order

    Hi,

    There is no standard functionality that lets you make reservations from a sales quote.  So that will require some customization or some alternative thinking.

    With out knowing anything about your business - one option could be to consider not released sales orders as quotes and releases sales orders as actual sales orders. Another option could be to define a dimension that you add to the orders and that you change when an order goes from quote to order. That was just some idea that popped into my mind.

    Samantha,

    Reserving against a Sales Quote is not possible. However, if the customer accepts the Quote, convert the Quote to a Sales Order and you can make the reservation then.

    Hello, as the above two experts said, there is no standard way to do it. You need to customize and bring the function to Sales Quote.
