Unable to find Production Orders Table via Power BI Desktop API

Hello community,

within Dynamics 365 Business Central we find some Production Orders information like fixed production orders and planned production orders.

We'd like to use this information in Power BI Desktop to create some reports. But through the build-in API for Dynamics 365 Business Central we were unable to find the Production Orders table.

With ctrl + alt + F1 (site check window) we can identify a table called "Production Order (5405)", but in Power BI Desktop this table isn't shown.

Any advise to this issue? Thank you in advance!

The best practice here would be to create a custom API that can publish the required data to Power BI.

Here you can see how the custom API can be developed:

Given creating a custom api isn’t always possible, albeit the best approach, you could try using page 9325 as a web service.

Search for the web services page and add a row for that page. Publish and it should be available in power bi. I think web services have their own subcategory in the BC data connector. Not 100% on that but you will locate any published web services you have via the connector

    Hi

As other experts here mentioned you need to publish page (for Power BI you can publish page and not the table) through web services or created API or Query in BC and publish.

For a project (kind of similar) I needed to publish following pages. But you may just need 9325

    1) Firm Planned Prod. Orders (9325, List)

    2) Firm Planned Prod. Order (99000829, Document)

    3) Firm Planned Prod. Order Lines (99000830, ListPart)

Go to Web Service page then New then select the Page and enter 9325 and enter service name (no space) and select Publish. Then you should see it in Power BI.

Sometimes you may not see all the fields you need then you can go back to Web Services then Action -> New Document -> Create Data Set then select either Edit Existing or create and edit from existing and then see if you can find the field their and select. Please know that you only can add the field if field is made available in page (you can add it to page through personalization)
