Error message after upgrade to 2010

Receiving an error message now that we've upgraded to GP 2010.  The error appears when logging into GP, "You don't have security privileges to open this window.  Contact your system administrator for assistance".  I see that Advanced Security is gone, so I can't go that route.  I'm not a partner, so I can't get my hands on the Support Debugging Tool.  Anyone have other suggestions for tracking down the source of this error.

Michael - I'm assuming you upgraded from GP v9 or earlier because security in v10 and GP2010 is the complete reverse of earlier versions. There is no Advanced Security in GP2010 - it went bye bye. It's hard to determine remotely what's causing this because I too ran into the same situationas you. In my case it was not GP security blocking me; someone had set server security to block access to GP logging in a user. I suggest you start with the server security. Make sure it's not blocking you. Then move on to GP security.

If you have the 'sa' password, you can follow these directions and then run the script to find out what role you need to add to gain access.

If you did not convert your security from version 9 you have a long road ahead of you.

I was able to sort it out using the dexsql.log file and the Support Debugging Tool.  Thanks for the help everyone.

    Hi Michael,

It is only available on PartnerSource. You need to ask your partner and they should be able to provide it. Maybe someone improperly has it on their web site, but I have not seen that yet. You could probably e-mail any partner you know and they would send it to you. It's really kind of silly that it isn't available on CustomerSource.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
