SKUs in Planning witgh forecast

HI Guys,

I have two inventory locations : an Amazon warehouse and a Factory. We have a Demand Forecast set to the Amazon warehouse (eg100pcs /week).I made two SKUs for the same items. For the 'Amazon' SKU I set up the replanishment policy to Transfer order (and I set up the Factory location as a source, and set up the transfer routes). For the 'Factory' SKU I set the replanishment policy to Production Order. I also checked the transfer level code is -1 at Amazon SKU and 0  at the Factory SKU.

The expected behaviour of the planning would be to suggest Transfer Orders as replanishments at AMazon location and based on the requirements of the transfer order suggest Production order at the Factory location. But I cannot get it.

When I run the planning and

a) I select the Forecast but do not select any warehouse than I got suggestions wor production orders at teh Factory Location.

b) select either Factory or AMazon locations than I got nothing

So both are wrong.

When i go back and change back the Replanishment Policy to Production order at Amazon SKU than I get the suggested Production orders based on the forecast. SO this is good but not what I want.

WHat else should I set up to generate suggested Transfer orders at teh AMazon location?

Thanks

    Hi

    A few basic questions

    1) What is the Reordering Policy in Amazon? and what is it in Factory?

    2) What is Manufacturing Policy in Factory?

    3) if you go to Manufacturing Setup what is a location for "Components at Location" ? Can you set it to to Factory and test?

    4) In Manufacturing Setup do you have Combined MPS/MRP Calculation on?

    Thanks

Great find on the "Use Forecast for Locations" toggle within Manufacturing Setup.  Glad to hear that resolved the issue.

    Hi,

    1)  Reordering policy is  Lot-for-Lot in both SKUs.

    2) Manufacturing poliy is MakeToOrder at the Factory

    3) I changed the Components at Location" to Factory but it behaved the same

    4) "Components at Location" was ON

But I found some other interesting things in the Manufacturing Setup and after changing the "Use forecast on locations" to ON it working properly.

I also found here the "Current Demand Forecast" and when I set it up than it get as default in the Planning and I do not need to set up again and again.

    Thanks for the help

Thanks for sharing the result. The "Use forecast on location" is the interesting one.

I never know about the "Current Demand Forecast" I have learned something new.
