Partial Reservation- Any Way to Reserve Only a Portion Directly from the Sales Order?

Hi everyone,

I’m working with the standard reservation functionality on the Sales Order Line. When using Line → Functions → Reserve, Business Central reserves the entire quantity on the line.

My client’s requirement is to reserve only a portion of the quantity.
Example: Line quantity is 10 units, but the user wants to reserve only 5 units.

I’m aware that the Reservation Worksheet can be used to reserve specific quantities, but the client does not want to use that page. They want to handle reservations directly from the Sales Order, without navigating through additional pages or multiple clicks.

So I’m trying to understand:

Is there any standard way to partially reserve a user-entered quantity directly from the Sales Order Line?
Any option (other than splitting the line) that allows entering how many units to reserve?
Or is custom development the only path to achieve this?

Any insights or confirmation from others who have handled similar scenarios would be very helpful.
