Upgrade Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2016 8.1 to Dynamics 365.

Dear MS Community,

We have upgraded from Dynamics CRM 2016 8.1 to Dynamics 365. As a part of this upgrade the WebApi end point url has changed from "xyz.crm5.dynamics.com/.../v8.1" to "xyz.crm5.dynamics.com/.../v8.2". But the first Url is still supported in the code. Do we have to update the endpoint in JavaScript code to "....../api/data/v8.2" or will it be supported through out? Any pointers would greatly save us a lot of time. Thanks in advance.
