Cant find where New Contact->Phone Field is Populating From

We are currently on CRM 2013 Online.

Within our account form we have the field telephone1 and within our contact form we have telephone1.

If we create a new contact the telephone number seems to populate across fine.

However

If we update the number in the account form for the same account, then create another new contact, the previous number is automatically populated, not the new one!

We have tried updating the account, saving, coming out, going back in but the old number still get populated on any new contacts we try to add. We also added in all the telephone fields we have available into the account form to see if one of those was the issue, but none impact the contact record.

Does anyone know why this may be and if so how to resolve.

I have just tried this and it was copying correctly for me.

have you customized the account form at all?  Can you check the field you are setting on the Account form is telephone 1 and not a new custom field

Check the field you are changing is telephone1

check the user 1:N mappings Account -Contact is set to map the correct field across

Is there any kind of Javascript , business rules, plugins running which maybe writing

The fields are Out of the box and they are the telephone1 fields. The mappings are also correct.

There is no conflicting mappings, java script, business rules.

This is why I am completely lost...... It was fine in 2011...

    Hi G Sav,

I would recommend that you open a Support Incident with us to have a closer look at your issue.

Jason - are you assigning all to the same owner?

Did you possibly take too long to prepare your file for re-import? Any records that changed in CRM since you exported them will not be updated by your import.
