Edit in Excel error in loading metadata - when using Windows VM on a MacBook connecting to cloud

Hi

I have a client who has Windows VM installed on his MacBook.

He accesses our cloud BC tenant from the Windows VM.

Open in Excel to save the file on his desktop - this is working.

However, when Edit in Excel is used, he gets the error loading metadata message.  (He was trying to edit the Chart of Accounts)

Does anyone in this forum have experience in the same situation and found a solution?

Is this a user authentication error (client has O365 full license) or a connectivity error (from MacBook VM)?

    Hello,

    If you don't get further responses to this issue, you may want to raise a support request to Microsoft support via your CSP / Partner.

    Found out the root cause of this issue - there were 2 Production environments created.

    The client created the first with a trial license and did not delete it when the full license separately created another Production environment.

    Deleting the trial production environment fixed the issue.
