Active Directory Authentication for GP

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We are currently using GP 2010. I was wondering what version of GP supports authenticating the GP user to an Active Directory (AD) user account, if any? We are looking for a single sign-on solution and Fastpath doesn’t seem to be an option.

Fastpath has a product called Config AD that provides AD SSO for Dynamics GP and CRM.

    Hi Milewski,

Microsoft started to add the AD user authentication link to the GP user account with GP 2013 when they launched the Web Client server.. This is a first step towards a SSO (single-sign-on) mode... but for your full GP client users, you're still bound to the SQL user login/pwd combination.. no choice yet.

However, there might be light in the tunnel in the coming new releases of GP 2016, since it looks like Microsoft is trying to get away completely from the Full GP client towards the Web-only client. Though there is no official timeline or statement available for now about this.
