We are in the process of moving our ERP solution to Business Central. It will be around a year to get our current ERP system fully transitioned to Business Central. Currently our warehouse is 100% paper-based. As a first step we would like to start using Business Central to track inventory for some of our items. What we want to do is have the ability to put a barcode on items as they come in. Scan them and scan the rack location they are being put away in and put the quantity in. Also we would like to be able to pull items from the rack in a similar fashion. We have installed WMS Express and tried the put-away functionality but we are hitting an issue. The software wants a purchase order and at this time purchase orders are tracked outside of business central and they won't be brought in until we complete the ERP transition project.
Is there another way to just track inventory pull/put-away using a barcode scanner where we only track the inventory quantity and location in business central without integrating with the full process with purchase orders, etc.?
