I didn't configure Microsoft authenticator app for login to Business Central Admin user (Trial).
When I try to login to the system it's asking " Open your Microsoft Authenticator app and approve the request to sign in."

I ran into the same issue with my global user account and it was a big mass as I can't go directly to the Azure portal to reset the settings so I tried running the script... what I followed is,
First of all, go to windows PowerShell and run it as administrator
then type Install-Module MSOnline command and select "A" to get all commands
now MSOnline module is install in your system
next step is run this command Connect-MSOLService
and in the poop-up login with global admin account

    now run the following command
    Set-MsolUser -UserPrincipalName ABC@YourDomain.onmicrosoft.com -StrongAuthenticationMethods @()
It will set your authentication to null.... now simply login to the browser with the account in trouble it will go through you to the reauthentication process and all will get set.
As a tip try to set more than one  authentication methods such as email, phone and Authentication app.

Did you ever find an explanation why multifactor auth. suddenly is active.

From yesterday we have same experience. I have already installed the MS Authenticator app, so it was no problem for me to log in, but I did not activate MFA, so it seems BC requires it even if it is not activated.

Here below you can see a screenshot that it is not activated (sorry it is in Danish, but I think you get the picture that mfa is in status "de-activated".

So if you got a solution I would like to know it.

    Kind regards

    Hello,

It seems that you locked yourself out from abc.com / abcx.onmicrosoft.com and there is only one account having the required administrative permissions. Best probably is to either recreate the trial via a new Office 365 account or contact Microsoft Office support.

Usually, you create a new trial and the domain name is something like abc.onmicrosoft.com. As a customer you purchase a domain plus SSL cert and add that to the abc.onmicrosoft.com Office 365 tenant and then you have Office 365 (based on what services you purchase) and you can get a trial of BC while you either logon with john@abc.onmicrosoft.com or john@abc.com.

If you already have an Office 365 domain and want to purchase BC, a CSP can help you to add the trial to your existing Office 365 domain / tenant.

Best probably is to start all over.

How I can remove the MFA from Admin user (Trial) without log in?

Is there any service Microsoft provide? because it's very valid issue it must some other way to resolve.

Hi, In any case, you need an administrator to be able to log in, and if the administrator cannot log in, I recommend recreating a trial environment.

More details about Turn off legacy per-user MFA:

    Hello,

Either via Office 365 portal (Admin) or via Azure AD portal using a Global Admin you can look up the user list and select Per-user MFA. From there you can edit the user and use Manage User Settings. Select Require selected user to provide contact methods again. As a general hint, is to always add a phone number and email so you can choose other options when authenticator app is not avaiable.

Hi, Below are instructions on how to turn on MFA, and you can find the same setting, just turn it off.
