Field Service Security Roles

Hi,

If we talk about the available field security roles, who would be responsible for creating a work order? Is it the dispatcher, field service administrator, inventory purchase?

I am bit confused regarding the roles actually. In my field service instance the dispatcher isn't able to create a new work order and I get field security error for the same. Will I have to assign a user the Field service administrator role to create a new work order?

Any information regarding the roles setup would be really appreciated.

    Hi Mohd

Dispatcher should be able to create new work orders as that role is for someone who usually have access to scheduling entities

You also need to assign one or more field security profiles. For example in Dispatcher case you will need Security Profile called 'FieldOne Sky - Dispatcher' or something similar.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Abbas,

I am using field service module of Dynamics 365, where 'FieldOne Sky - Dispatcher' security profile isn't available. These security profiles are available in my case:

    Field service : Administrator

    Field service : Inventory Purchase

    Field service : Resource

    Field service : Dispatcher

    Hi Mohd Tahir,

In Dynamics 365, following roles allow you to create work order:

    Field service : Administrator

    Field service : Dispatcher

But you can create a new role to allow it to anyone:

Here is how to copy a role:

    technet.microsoft.com/.../dn531160.aspx

Here is how you can assign roles to users:
