GP Add-In missing in Developer Tab Word templates

Hello,

The GP Field List options are missing in my developer tab in Word (Office 2010). I have followed the instructions in the Microsoft KB article that instruct how to enable the disabled add-ins, but unfortunately for me, my add-in is NOT disabled. I have uninstalled and re-installed the Add-in with no success.

Any other thoughts why it would not be showing up?

Alright, I just figured it out. It needs Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Office Runtime 2010  to be installed.

Heidi, I have the same issue. Did you find the solution for this issue?

    Thanks Mick.

    I agree....how would I do that?

    Heidi,

Sounds like a registry issue with office disabled item, would be worth the IT Team checking the blogs on word disabled registry items.

Thanks guys. I have no problem creating a template, so I don't have to use the Template Generator, my problem is in Mick's suggestion. When I try to mark the Add-in, it looks like it lets me but it keeps it as Inactive (not even "disabled" like all the other posts related to this topic say).  We have logged in to the workstation as the network admin, disabled firewalls and anti-virus software, but Word refuses to let me activate the GP add-in. It's installed, I can see it in the Add-ins, but it won't let me use it.

Microsoft support can't even figure it out?

    If Bill's idea doesn't work:

MS Word >> File >> Trust Center >> Trust Center Settings >>Addins.

Ensure nothing is marked, if marked then Unmark all.

    Close Word and Relaunch.

When you get to the XML file - have you dragged it over the TemplateGenerate.exe ( I think ) in the Dynamics folder - this should launch Word and convert the XML into a Word format for you.

My developer tab also shows whether I open Word just by opening it from the Program Files menu, or by opening the template through GP. My problem is that I don't see the GP add-in in Word at all, whichever way I open it.

I have exported my modified report to an .xml, but that's my problem - I can't import it to the template because the "Field List" and "Add Resource" options aren't available because the GP add-in in Word will not let me activate it.

I'm just not sure what else to do.

    Bill,

Make sure you have printed the GP Report first, in the Print Options select to save the XML File.

If the Field List is available in the Word Template, check the xml resource, if not the one you specified, then remove source, then add your source from your exported xml file.

Sorry, no - the Developer tab shows up with or without GP - my case might be different, but I think I might have missed the fact that the FIELD group does not show unless you have GP and have opened WORD from TEMPLATE

    I think.
