Transaction Date in Voucher and Adjustment Entry

We are on Dynamics SL 2011 FP1 (ver. 8.10.30917.00)

We have a need to capture different transaction dates within the detail of Voucher and Adjustment Entries (the table is APTRAN).  We found a field called trandate in this table and added a text box to that particular screen for that particular field.  Now where we use Transaction Import or manually add detail lines to a batch/document.  The tran date field cannot be populated/updated with the actual date of the transaction and defaults to the Date at the Document level.   I checked the schema and found the following description of the TranDate in APTRan "Transaction date defaults from the associated document’s date stored in APDoc."

Is there a way to override the default setting on this field and populate it with the specific dates of the transactions instead of the date of the document?

For instance:

Document Date:  10/10/13

Detail line 1 TranDate: 10/3/13

Detail line 2 TranDate: 10/4/13

Detail line 3 TranDate: 10/6/13

Detail line 4 TranDate: 10/7/13

etc.

Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.

I agree. Microsoft/Dynamics is notorious for modifying databases. User one of the User Defined Fields.

    Second that.

Putting data in fields that don't belong to you is dangerous.

You could probably write some vba code to do this, but I'd recommend you use one of the user date fields instead.
