Production Order Status Would Not Change to "Finish" - Insufficient Component Quantity

Hi:

Today, in my sample data company, I created a Firm Production Order and released it.  Then, I tried to change the Released Production Order's Status to "Finished".

But, Business Central then brought up a message saying that I had insufficient quantity for one of my BOM's components and would not let me change the status to "Finished".

I had and still have a quantity of over 500 for this component at this location, and the quantity of the BOM that I was manufacturing is only 1.  The BOM requires a quantity of only 2, for this component.

Why in the world would I be incorrectly told that I do not have enough quantity?

Thanks!

John

    Hi All:

I think that I may know what happened.  But, I want to get confirmation from you all as experts.

What is the best way to tell from which location the components of a Production BOM pulled from when having processed a Firm Production Order?

Part of the reason that I ask is because I just started a new Firm Production Order, and I accessed the selection for "Line...Components" to take a look at the components of the BOM.

In the window that appeared, I noticed that there was no column for "Location".  So, I added it afterward by using "Personalize".

From there, I could simply hit the drop-down list to choose the desired location from which to pull the components.

So, maybe, I didn't after all pull the components from the intended location like I originally thought.  But, again, how do I tell?  Also, how do I ensure in the future that components do pull from the intended location for a Production Order?

    Thanks!

    John

If you can post a screenshot, it would be easier for us to spot the issue.

    Hi Syazwani:

I'm afraid that there's no batch number.

    Hi John,

Does the component has batch number? Try to check on the batch disposition code whether it is passed/failed (available or not). Even though it is available on hand, but if the batch disposition is failed, you cannot use it for your production order.

    Hi There, Teddy!

Yes to the first question, no to the second.

Check the unit of measure, location to make sure that you do have enough quantity. Also make sure that the stock is not being reserved for something else.
