Hi all,

I recently installed RMS SO 2.0 in a windows 7 professional 32 bit edition PC. But i cannot open Store operations POS and store operations Manager. When i'm trying to open the above it is not but when i check in task manager the application is running .I tried with new user and run as Administrator also, but still i couldn't.

Please help me to solve this.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Bibin

Usually when you stop it in Task Manager, it will come up the next time.

If it is the POS that won't open and it stays minimized, you need to click Ctrl+F6 to resize the window dimensions.

Bibin.  Please check the following registry keys.

On Windows 64bit (most windows 7 and 8).

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Retail Management System\Store Operations\POSUser\Display\TransactionWindowHeight

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Retail Management System\Store Operations\POSUser\Display\TransactionWindowLeft

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Retail Management System\Store Operations\POSUser\Display\TransactionWindowTop

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Retail Management System\Store Operations\POSUser\Display\TransactionWindowWidth

TransactionWindowHeight is your screen height, like 768

TransactionWindowWidth is your screen width, like 1024

TransactionWindowLeft  and TransactionWindowTop should both be 0, if not then please change to 0.

After you make these changes please close POS and restart.

if on Windows 32bit (like XP or your Win 7 32bit).  The keys are in a different place

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Retail Management System\Store Operations\POSUser\Display\TransactionWindowHeight

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Retail Management System\Store Operations\POSUser\Display\TransactionWindowLeft

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Retail Management System\Store Operations\POSUser\Display\TransactionWindowTop

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Retail Management System\Store Operations\POSUser\Display\TransactionWindowWidth

Were you logged in as Administrator when you first installed RMS?

If RMS runs fine on another PC on the network, try disabling any OPOS peripherals defined in Store Operations Manager, Database, Registers, Register list, select the affected station, Properties. Disable any peripherals. If POS and Manager then start fine, the issue is with one of the OPOS device drivers.

    Hi,

The problem with the scanner. If i disable the scanner from register it is working fine. I'm using symbol scanner. I couldn't connect the scanner.

Most Symbol scanners are USB plug and play and run in keyboard wedge mode. In this case there is no need to define a scanner device under register properties. You can confirm the scanner is a keyboard wedge device by testing it in Notepad.
