Hello guys,

This is probably not directly related to F&O but my Visual Studio license is about to expired.

I'd like to purchase for my continue learning of F&O development also does this license relate to the fact that I'm also using DevOps and store my code in Repository ?

May I get advice to where or how to purchase it safely ? I tried to find in Microsoft Store but confuse also what to buy. And may I get an advice what type of license or Subscription that "economist" for me for self-learn.

Thanks,

I have the same question (0)

Why do you think that your free, perpetual (=lasting forever) license is going to expire?

Because I have this notification ->

    An email as well

That's a different license than on your screenshot.

Regarding where to buy a license, Microsoft Store is indeed a possible place. You can also start at visualstudio.microsoft.com, decide which edition you want and the follow links to the store.

If you looked at Pricing for Azure DevOps, you would have found that the Basic is plan is free, therefore you don't have to worry about it even if you lose rights for using the Professional edition of Visual Studio.

    Thanks Martin.

So to just to be more convince, these are the only valid options ->

And for my self-learn, if I buy the "cheapest" one  ? Visual Studio Professional 2022 should be fine already? This is just for license only, and doesn't mean I have to upgrade my Visual Studio installation to 2022 version, right ? Because I'm still fine with the current 2019 installation, not sure if I change it will have trouble later.

    Thanks,

Most of your questions aren't about Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management Forum - you should ask in a Visual Studio forum instead.

The Professional edition edition is sufficient for F&O development. You can also try if you don't get F&O tools working on the Community edition (I haven't tried that).

I think that those four options are indeed what you have available as an individual. I'm not sure if you don't need a subscription to be able to use older versions.

Anyone ever try to use Visual Studio Community edition for F&O templates / tools? I just try to download VS 2019 Community version but cannot find the template.

For information, my current Visual Studio 2019 Professional Edition is from the downloadable VHD from LCS, then I just login using my existing account, I'm not sure why then if I check my account there is some different license type.

I want to ask Visual Studio Community forum, but somehow, I doubt they also understand about this VHD thing.

Please help, coz I'm afraid to lose all my F&O development learning.

    Thanks,

RE: Visual Studio Trial Extended expired

I ended up bought Visual Studio Professional 2022 (through Microsoft Store). But failed to apply the product key given within the email.

Does this license / product key only works for Visual Studio 2022 ? My Visual Studio version is 2019, but the store only sell 2022. Do I need to upgrade first

Anyone can help me on this ? I understood this is F&O forum, but I did ask in Visual Studio forum, but no one answer until now, and this development is for F&O. I have limited knowledge about this.

    Please help.

This is solved. What I need to buy actually Visual Studio Pro Subscription, not a product key. It has monthly scheme and it is under Business tab : Pricing and Purchasing Options | Visual Studio (microsoft.com)

So anyone probably looking for a Visual Studio Professional 2022 product / activation key, PLEASE HELP coz I'm selling this HALF PRICE as I'm not use it, wrong buying. I tried to refund but there is no Refund scheme:(
