Creating reports with a custom entity and custom fields

I'm building out a solution and would like to add reports to them using some custom entities and fields that I've already built. I can't figure out how to include these custom fields into the reports that I'm building. Some of them are available to include, but not all the fields. I've published my customizations a few times but that hasn't solved it. Any tips?

What are you using to create the reports? Are you using the wizard or another tool like Visual Studio?

I'm about to answer my own question here, even though it's taken me half the day to figure it out. Ugh. The fields have to be "Searchable" in order for it to show up as an available field in a report. Wow.......
