Is there a best practices document or general knowledge for how to synchronize data from CRM Online to CRM On-Premise. I work for a company that does not allow communication from outside the network back in. I would like to understand the best practices to explore how to keep our data synchronized from both environments.

The Instance adaptor is Microsoft's free solution to do this - it does have it's limitations, but would allow you time run within your organisation's network and pull/push data to Online.

Other than that you could use:

Scribe - http://www.scribesoft.com/
Bespoke - You could write a bespoke routine using the SDK, but it is complex and probably not necessary unless you have specific requirements. -www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx
