Creating new apps for different departments - With Marketing functionality

Hi,

I've been asked if Dynamics 365 is the best solution to store Contact details securely and enable Marketing material to be sent out to those Contacts.

Three different departments have asked this question.

They will have contacts that are Business to Consumers .  Currently our main users of Dynamics is our Sales and Marketing team which deal with Business to Business, Accounts and Contacts.

Ideally the contacts will need to be kept hidden from the other departments to reduce the risk of the wrong contact receive Marketing material that doesn't apply to them.  We our a Mental Health hospital so patient details are very restricted for Current and those that have been discharged.

Would I need to create 3 new solutions in Dataverse with the required columns, fields, views, forms for the specific departments and along with new Business Units??

Any advice, guidance would be gratefully received

    Hi,

Dynamic 365 uses security roles to restrict user access to records.
Users and teams belonging to different business units cannot access records in other business units unless they have security roles with organization-level permissions:

After opening the settings in the Power Platform admin center and adding the 'Owning Business Unit' field on the contact form designer,
we can change the business unit to which the contact record belongs:
In addition to the security roles that control table permissions, we can also use the profile to control column security.

    Hi,

Thank you for your response and links which I will be referring to.

Just so I have this right in my head and not over thinking this.

The individual from a certain Business Unit, can access the main Marketing app and they will only see their contacts that are owned by that Business unit and Owner will be the individual.

So the forms to add, update will need to be assigned to the specific Business Unit as some of the information collected may be different.  The data is stored in the same Dataverse tables but restricted by the Business unit and Security roles assigned to the user??
