Add report to dashboard?

ReportReport

Is there a way to run a report and insert that report into a dashboard? Ideally the goal had been to take a specific currency field from several contacts and display a total. Unfortunately no amount of effort and searching allowed me to sum up these currency fields in an advanced find (using a chart for the dashboard)  but it works OK in a report. Problem is though I don't think I can insert a report onto a dashboard. If there is a way I would be most appreciative.

Thank you,

Have a look at this blog post:

How to Display a Report in a Dashboard in Dynamics CRM 2011?

The solution outlined below by Jason (& others online) does not work in MS CRM 2013.  You get only the header elements of the report to show and not the actual report (regardless of how much I change the Increase Height designation -- just the white space grows).  It is ridiculous the limiting features of Chart creator and then the fact that reports cannot display easily in Dashboards -- in addition the Dashboard Reporting Control program that is eluded to by others to help for CRM 2011 is not longer available and there is no version yet for 2013 that I have been able to locate.

    Hi Tracy,

thank you for your post and your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you are experiecing this issue with the reports. I can confirm that the described behavior is a known design mistake – after installing CRM2011 UR16 CRM reports embedded in IFRAME objects (on forms / dashboards /etc...) no longer display correctly when using Internet Explorer 9 or Internet Explorer 10.

The issue has been already addressed and released with CRM2011 UR17 support.microsoft.com/.../en-us. The fix is also scheduled to be included into CRM2013 SP1 – see the section “Issues that will be resolved in Service Pack 1 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013” from the pre-release article  support.microsoft.com/.../en-us.

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 (SP1) will be available in the second quarter (Q2) of 2014. If you happen to experience the issue after installing CRM 2013 SP1, I would recommend you to open a Support Request with CRM Technical Support at the following link - www.microsoft.com/.../contact-technical-support.aspx and work with one of our engineers to investigate and address the issue for your particular environment.

Please let us know if this helps.

Thank you for using Microsoft Dynamics CRM Communities.

    Hi Nina,

I'm having this problem too, and your response has given me the best potential answer to why this isn't working.

I'm not sure if I already received the Spring Online 2014 update - how do I check that in the settings? I can't seem to find it.

I'm on 2013 Online - so I assume that if I have received the update, then I need to submit a service ticket request like you suggested, right?

    Thanks!

Oh wait - someone in another thread figured it out for me. I was creating a user dashboard, when instead I need to create a system dashboard from the customizations.

    Hi Nina,

I have installed SP1 but still no luck. Have the same issue as Tracy has, can only see File button on top but report doesn't render. Is there any other workaround for this? I wanted to create a Demo for my client to show complex reports in Dashboard. Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

@EngageDave: This actually doesn't work with 2015 and above. The problem is, it renders only header of report, but not actual content.

For working solution, please read my recent blog post on this: HOW TO ADD REPORTS TO DASHBOARD IN CRM 2015

    Thanks!
