    Hi there!

You can create a duplicate detection rule similar to the existing rule i.e. "Contacts with the same first name and last name". Please see the below screenshot:

Now if you create the record with the same parameters then it will prompt you to either save or cancel.

    Hope, It will be helpful

    Thanks Charles Abi

I want duplicate detection rule on both fields but it's not working

    e.g.

    Contact 1 - Street Name: abc d

                   - PostCode: WC1X 8HR

    Contact 2- Street Name: xyz

                   - PostCode: WC1X 8HR

It should triger duplicate warning as both contacts have got same PostCode

    Thanks Naveen,

What if first name is Benno but last name is abcd.

Would that still triger the warning ?

Also it seems to be ignoring the spaces

    e.g.

    WC1X 8HR

    WC1X8HR

it should trigger duplicate warning but it doesn't

    Hi partner,

You need to create two duplicate detection rules for this, one for Street Name and one for PostCode.

In this case, as long as there is a duplicate of the Street Name or PostCode, the warning will pop up.

    Hello,

In this case, you have to create 2 duplicate detection rules, because if you add more than one field in the same Rule, it will consider it as AND and there is no possibility to have OR unless you create 2 different rules and in each of the rule will have the needed field.

Thanks make sense. how can I sort out space issue in duplicate detection

    For example

    WC1X 8HR

    WC1X8HR

it should trigger duplicate warning but it doesn't

In fact it is not possible to do it as per your need.

All you can do is to define the duplicated record in one of the below options:

Exact Match, First X characters, Last X characters.

While, ignore blank value check box is not intended for this purpose, it is for the null values of the field to avoid highligthing two records with empty field as duplicated records.

    Hi partner,

There is currently no way to detect spaces. So this requirement is impossible to achieve.
