Automate Sales Docs Importing

Greetings to all of you.

Long story short, every night , a customer of mine , posts on my onecloud , an excel file which is basically a configuration package, including the sales header and the sales line table. ( data are coming from another ERP that the customer uses).

My task , is to create , an automatic process which will allow me to get the lines within the file and post them within the Business Central ( cloud version).

I tried using Power automate , so that i can open the file and post , through POST Request, all the needed information but i am having a hard time with the ID's since , for example, to post a sales line you need the itemid and not the item no..

Due to that, i would like to ask you , which  is the most simple way to achieve this goal ? Can anyone share his/her experience please?!

Thank you in advance for your time.

With respect,

AK

The best way would be to have your customer put the file on a Azure blob storage.

Then you can use AL code to retrieve the file from the Azure blog storage.

Read the file into the Excel buffer in Business Central and create the orders from there.

Then create a job that can run in a job scheduler that process the Excel files at a given time every night.

Hi, This is not very difficult if not fully automatic, manual import of Excel files. Here is a simple example.

If you want to be fully automatic, the biggest problem is not being able to read your local folder.

Here are some solutions that hopefully give you some hints.

    Graph API
